When our friends and family started asking for more we wondered if we could make a business out of this. My husband was skeptical but I thought we might as well give it a try. I showed one to my friend's mother and told her we made them and were thinking of selling them. She asked if she could buy one. When my husband came home I told him I sold a candle today and he said, "That's great, honey," and brushed it off. We only had a few scents at that time so I put one of each in a basket, tied some gingham on the basket handle and sent it with my mother to her work and to a business next door with 15 or so employees (Including my friends mother). The next day my husband came home and I told him I had $ 300.00 in orders. After he picked his jaw up off the floor we went to work filling the orders. We started sending baskets with family and friends wherever we could and before we knew it we were in business. In 2004 we launched our website and a year later a small retail store. We now specialize in fundraising for schools and organizations.
We enjoy what we do and hope you'll enjoy our products as well. |
